Queensland’s Sunshine coast is best known for its magnificent surfing beaches. However, many people do not know about its amazing hinterland with views to die for. This weekend I was fortunate enough to be invited to a wedding there. The hinterland is a very popular wedding location.
We stayed overnight at a local bed and breakfast in Flaxton called Peppertree Cottage. www.peppertreecottage.com The owner, Lynne, just could not do enough for us and our room was perfect, the delicious home-made breakfast tasty, and the manicured gardens a delight to the eye.
The wedding was held in Flaxton Gardens www.flaxtongardens.com.au which is one of many outdoor wedding venues in the hinterland with great views over the scenic escarpment. We danced the night away and had a ball.
We visited the nearby town of Montville for lunch. It is a quaint town with many craft type shops as well as cafes and restaurants.
On the road back to Brisbane we passed the Glasshouse Mountains which are an icon in this part of the world.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Winks and many thanks for including us in your marriage celebrations and giving us the opportunity to not only celebrate with you but also to once again visit this beautiful area of Queensland.
