Drive north to Canada

We drove to Canada in an easy day's ride, stopping to look at the statuesque Mount Hood at over 11,000 feet with its snow capped peaks. It took us a full day with a stop of about 40 minutes at the USA border.

Darlene and I found a geocache in the woods by this lake in Vancouver.

We are visiting friends in the Vancouver area. These are very good friends that we have made over the years through home exchanges. It is still summer and lovely weather but not the extreme heat that we have been experiencing in the high desert in Bend. It has been great to catch up and have lots of fun. It has also been great to re-experience the scenic beauty of Canada.

On our way back to Oregon we spent a night with friends in Washington state. These catch ups are terrific and it will be great to return to Bend and rest our livers for a while after all the merriment.
